Stan & Rosalie Danells

Rosalie has been dancing since she was 16 years old. She has been calling for about 10 years and went to the Caller’s school in Truro, NS.

For the Hampton Hoedowners’ Club, Rosalie has occupied different positions: secretary, vice president and president for many terms each. She is always supported by her husband, Stanley, who couldn’t always be as involved because of work.

To promote our club, Rosalie has made flyers and sent emails to invite other clubs and new people to join us. She also did some write-ups for the Hampton Senior’s Resource Centre and town of Hampton.  She helped form a Square Dance Club in Sussex, NB. She has organized demos at the Agricultural Museum in Sussex and quite a few on Canada Day in Hampton. Rosalie makes sure our club knows about what’s going on in other clubs.

Rosalie was an active member in the Association and has written reports for the Federation of NB, both her and Stanley are always willing to help.

She, with the support from her husband, Stanley, was involved in the Canadian Square and Round Dance Society and in the following conventions of 2002, 2010, 2022 & MCCA, developing flyers and volunteering.

Rosalie and Stanley have done a lot to promote square dancing by calling in Hampton, Sussex, Fairvale and St Stephen. They have attended several National and MCCA conventions. They are, in particular, Rosalie is always willing to take on added responsibilities and help out where needed.

We as a club feel that Rosalie and Stanley are deserving of the Federation of Dance Clubs of New Brunswick, Inc. Distinguished Service Award. They are what dancing is all about – fun, friendship and dedication to the activity
